Our history

5 generations, 140 years of printing and packaging solutions.

The first 100 years

From foundation, through two world wars.

A story that begins at its foundation and passes through two world wars, transforming over time without losing its identity. Today that legacy translates into industrial expertise and the ability to innovate.

February 1886

The beginning

On February 17, 1886, Mr. Eugenio Favillini began his printing business, soon becoming synonymous with quality.

July 1943

Reconstruction

In 1943 the printing facility in Livorno was destroyed, but his son Oreste did not lose heart and, after moving to a new location with the saved equipment, purchased the first offset printing machine.

March 1976

The turning point

1976 represented a turning point. His son Giovanni decided to focus exclusively on paper converting, purchasing die-cutting machines and semi-automatic folder-gluers, thus enabling the company to expand at a regional and interregional level.

July 1986

The new headquarters

The increase in production made a new facility necessary, and in 1986 the company was relocated to the industrial area of Livorno. On that occasion, the systems and production lines were renewed, making them technologically updated and progressively aligned with market demands.

A leap forward

From Grafiche Favillini to Favillini Pharmaceutical Packaging

Favillini evolved from a family business into part of a broader corporate project, strengthening organization, production capacity and strategic vision.

January 2015

Renewal

Over the years, the company’s core business increasingly focused on the pharmaceutical sector, so much so that in 2015 Eugenio and Alberto Favillini renewed the company’s payoff from “printing industry” to “pharmaceutical packaging.”

February 2020

Transformation

In 2020, Arcadia SGR, an Italian Private Equity fund investing in successful SMEs, acquired part of the shares from brothers Alberto and Eugenio Favillini, who retained the operational leadership of the company.

July 2020

Expansion

In July 2020, Grafiche Favillini took an important strategic step by acquiring Ideagrafica, a paper converting company founded in 2003 by the Pettinari family and rapidly established in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical packaging. With its production facility in Liscate (MI), Ideagrafica brought know-how, specialization and a consolidated position in the Northern Italy market.

September 2024

The Group

In September 2024, FAVILLINI PHARMACEUTICAL PACKAGING GROUP was officially established, with two sites: Livorno and Liscate (MI).

January 2025

Expansion

The growth path continued in January 2025 with the acquisition of Interpack, a company based in Pomezia (RM) with strong experience in the pharmaceutical field. Thanks to this operation, the Group further strengthened its national coverage and expanded its production and service capacity for customers.

November 2025

Our third site

The merger has become effective, and FAVILLINI PHARMACEUTICAL PACKAGING GROUP has thus officially acquired its third site.
